This rebuild is made much easier because off Peter Holtham excellent book with illustrations and a lot off guidance, Thanks Peter this is a winner.

Start 31-03-2017 disassembly.
The disassembly of the receiver Marconi R1155 is complete, after I cleaned the chassis, I resprayed the front a little.
I have made sure that the old look is preserved from the radio.

I mounted the newly re-winded DF transformer.

From the rear, the new DF transformer is to see more clearly.

Restored Bias board

Restored BFO

Restoring DF section

Restoring complete

Part rebuilding coil box and bias board

Refitting  from the BFO and DF section and a part off the rewiring off the front is being done.

Rebuilding the bottom off the receiver

Nearly there on this side off the receiver, a few wires and parts to go.

Now the rest off that part off rebuilding is in place, I did run the test as recommended and they checked out.

Refitting off the tuning capacitor.

Test off the wiring voltage at the valves and current drawn.

Rewiring from the master-switch an aural sense switch plus the tag board.

And the spaghetti you left with.(I love spaghetti)

The part off rewiring to the Jones plugs done, the rest will follow soon.

The master switch refitted, and some wiring will be added on the back wafer e.
There will be a complete check on all the wiring if nothing is being forgotten or wrongly wired.

Checking resonance off the coil L9, I was not able to free that core for realignment.
Therefore as a last resort I checked the resonance off the coil off  that band.
There was a dip on both ends off the band.

Refitting off the coil box, after a examination off the book and if all wiring is present.

Many will get discouraged by the wiring you have to content with.
Worrying about the wiring isn't the problem, when there is wiring missing that's a problem big time.
As specially when all is fitted together, then you are in trouble.

Refitting and rewiring coil box complete.

Next rewiring the DF section.

And the completion off a few parts on the side off the coil box.

The old parts on the side off the coil box removed and replaced by new parts.
Capacitors had the wrong value and couldn't be trusted.

 Nearly complete.

The rebuilding DF section done, except L24 is still missing.
I will wind two new coils shortly.

L24 refitted.

The Df transformer and V10 wired up.

All done.

Mission accomplished. 14-05-2017 finish rebuilding.

Without Peter Holtham excellent book this would be a lot more difficult.
Thanks to Peter and Ian Ropper.
