Project R 1155

The receiver Marconi R 1155.
This receiver is my next project I will be working on.

Marconi R 1155 was used by the British in the Second World War bombers such as the Lancaster.
He served as a direction finder and as a radio and communications within the bomber.
Since this receiver is nearly 80 years old, one can assume that all of the wire insulation is unusable by checking the wiring  I found the insulation crumbling and must be replaced .

Capacitors are all leaky and must be replaced, except the silver mica capacitors.
Resistors can also be  the wrong value so it is advisable to replace them all.
Missing parts will be replaced if possible.

The transformer that was missing in the receiver, wil be replaced by a new one.
And will be fitted to the receiver again.

The left and right power transformer new DF transformer.

The tubes are all tested in the unit, after 80 years they are in perfect condition.
Where it comes down to is, I totally take the receiver apart, remove everything that is not functional and I clean the whole chassis.

Also, the front  gets a respray.
