Building a ESR meter is an good idea when you want to safe money.
That's one off the reasons why I build this little device.
It took me a few days but it was worthwhile.
I used vero board, that's they call it over-here in Europe.
If you have bad eyesight I recommend to design a board.
I was in agony city because off bad eyesight.
Constructing this device is straight forward, it is not critical.
The aligning is very sense-tif, you have to be very patient.
Put the meter on zero.
Measure the capacitors ESR.
In this case 0,1uF 630volts 9 ohms.

By measuring 1 ohm the deflection was unsatisfactory.
You wouldn't be able to make a reading below 1 ohm.
By adding R10 this all changed.
I put 46.3 ohm parallel to R9 this solved that problem.
